They left me behind

Ambah O’Brien has a new pattern called Little Raven Shawl (pattern purchased on Ravelry).

The Little Raven (Corvus mellori) is a bird species of the family Corvidae, a native to southeastern Australia and a regular visitor to my garden. These intelligent and inquisitive birds have beautiful black feathers that are so glossy, they shine almost white in the bright sunlight. As a talking bird, the global symbolism of ravens is often complex and can represent insight, transition, transformation and a connection between the material world and the world of spirits. Choose between the small and large fingering weight or the DK options and knit yourself a feathery, triangular shawl creation. Use glossy black yarn to represent the shawl’s namesake, or choose the colours of your favourite bird and let this sweet project fly off your needles.

If you would like to do a shawl with more than one colour we have a few options. A Yarn Bomb from Freia would be perfect. These will be online and in the store for 40% off starting Wednesday at noon. Another option is a Theme Pack from Emma’s.

Though exceptional stitch-definition has long been a hallmark of our single-ply yarns, the loftiness of this Merino Fingering is particularly versatile, lending itself to be stitched up in a variety of gauges without losing definition or drape.

Our unique dye process also results in a very slight felting which creates a wonderfully pill-resistant fabric. Voracious Freia fans will be perhaps most excited by the upgraded yardage. These 200 gram “Yarn Bombs” measure 860 yards, with enough yarn for a good oversized shawl. They will truly shock and awe you!

Or you can knit the shawl in a solid colour.

I was in the store early to pack boxes. Then I moved on to counting yarn so that the website will be correct when the yarn goes live Wednesday at noon. Things were so crazy on Saturday that we couldn’t put in the colours people were buying - we just picked the first colour on the list. The numbers on the website were wrong for all the sale yarns. I didn’t get all the yarn counted so I’ll be back tomorrow to finish.
Dad, Beth, Jackson and Boscoe were on the boat ready to go fishing. Fred wouldn’t come and they kept calling him. Finally they pulled away and then he came running. Beth had to redock the boat and he jumped on. He won’t make that mistake again.
