Ready to Go

After the sale I forgot to put the Rasta Sale colours online. They are there now.

This is the first Textured Cowl that I knit with Rasta a few years ago.

Pattern: Textured Cowl (pattern purchased on Ravelry)
Yarn: one skein of Rasta in the colour Zarzamora - this is a colour that is on sale.
Needles: 15mm

It is a bit too wide. I cast on 48 stitches for this one.

If you've made a cowl and find that it is too big, don't rip it out. I'm against ripping out. :) Instead try a shawl pin. It will hold the cowl in place and looks great. Jewelry for your knitting.

This is my second Textured Cowl. This one was knit with one skein of Azules which is not one of the colours on sale.

Pattern Changes: I cast on 42 stitches instead of the 48 that the pattern called for and worked four full repeats.

If you look on Ravelry there are many, many patterns for hats, cowls, scarves, shawls, mittens and sweaters that are knit and crocheted in Rasta.

I’m in the ‘I’m going away and I need to get the website up to date’ mode. Today I added in more of the Mode at Rowan leaflets.

Dad, Beth and the dogs went to the cottage this morning. Beth has had a few adventures. Everyone is fine! After leaving the marina on the way to the cottage we go through a channel. It is narrow and very shallow. There was a boat behind Beth and the dogs were on the back barking. Somehow Jackson ended up in the water. Beth had to climb down the ladder and boost Jackson back on the boat. He is fine and Beth said he wasn’t/isn’t upset by the encounter. Beth showered and changed and they went out fishing. Beth was bringing a fish onboard and wasn’t doing it fast enough for Boscoe. He went over trying to get it. Boscoe can swim so he wasn’t upset. Beth brought the fish in, released the fish and then dealt with Boscoe. He had is front feet up on the side of the boat and dad and her pulled him in. Beth told Fred that he was her favourite. I called a bit later to make sure dad was still onboard. 😉

My suitcase is packed (almost). I have a few things to throw in tomorrow. There is enough clothes that I can stay away for 2 weeks but I’m one of those people who always packs way too much.

My flight is really early so I’m off to bed. I’ll write tomorrow afternoon from Miami.
