We're Home

We had a great time at Camp. This morning there was rain but it stopped in time to pack up to come home.

Kate had a large class so it was easier to demonstrate some things with people surrounding her.
I said that the food was good. Everyone morning we had custom made omelettes. Yummy!

There wasn't time to knit this weekend but I'm going to start a new project tonight. After a weekend with knitters, I'm inspired to pick up my needles tonight.
These are the brand new colours of Kidsilk Haze Stripe that should be arriving in the store next month. I'm going to start another Color Play Mohair Wrap using four of them - not the off white and not the darkest navy/purple.
Yes, this will be #5. It is very addictive!

Saturday at Camp

It was a busy day at Camp. I taught Linen Stitch this morning. Here are a few swatches from the Campers. It was more about the technique than colours :) They brought scrap yarn because we were cutting a lot and I didn't want them ruining their 'good' stash yarn.

A lot of fun is had at Camp as well.
My Color Play Mohair Wrap has been very popular. Many people have had it on and I need to make sure that it isn't in some one's bag tomorrow.
The meals at Camp are awesome. We eat at long tables and try and switch up the seating throughout the weekend so that everyone has a chance to meet and chat.
Tonight was the student fashion show. The Campers bring in garments that they have knit during the year to show off. We had quite a few Color Affections in many great colour combinations.

It's bed time. Tomorrow is busy for Beth and I. We have a lot of packing to do before heading home.

Camp Day One

The Campers are in class and I'm trying to stay out of the way. Beth and I are back in our cabin. She's napping and I'm going to work on tonight's fashion show.
The mini yarn shop is set up. It will look much better tomorrow when all the garments are hanging.

The many fabulous door prizes from our suppliers.

The Thursday night game. This is very serious!!

Kate is stumped. For her first time at Camp she did very well at the game. Unfortunately for her, Sally was a bit better. You might not know it but Sally is very competitive. VERY! She plays to win.
This morning Sally is teaching Knit to Flatter and Fit. Every time I looked she was standing on a chair to show what she was talking about.

We're Here

Beth and I made our stop at Webers and were here around 3pm. We unloaded everything (it's amazing how much we fit into the van) and then did the goodie bags.
The weather is beautiful. The lake is so calm today.

We've had dinner and now we're watching Big Brother while doing our last minute chores. Early to bed and then early to rise so that we can set up the mini yarn shop and class rooms.

The Day Before

I'm trying to get everything finished before we leave in the morning. We hope to be on the road between 10 and 11. Beth has a stop planned on the way at Webers Hamburgers.

There is a huge box of parcels going to the post office.
Printing the teacher's class notes.

It's almost 2pm and I think I'm done. That means getting to work on the Cane Bay Wrap.

It's now 4pm and guess what. No knitting yet. I keep finding things to do for Camp. I need to finish the wrap this evening!!

When I wrote my blog post about yarn bowls I totally forgot to show a picture of the best one.

It's much later now and my chores are done. I'm sitting down to knit and watch Big Brother. Then a good night's sleep. I guess I should think about packing soon. :)

Yarn Bowls

Mom and dad arrived home from Myrtle Beach last night and brought two huge boxes of yarn bowls.

The Cane Bay Wrap didn't get finished last night. Hopefully tonight. It looks like it's going to be on display at Camp pre-blocking. Speaking of Camp. I think we're ready. There are a few more things to print but all yarn and garments are packed. Oh yeah, all the goodie bag and door prizes are ready to go too. Another Great Fair

We had a fantastic time in Kitchener yesterday. It was great seeing customers who shop in the store as well as the customers that I see a few times a year at the shows.
Thank you to Wannietta, Sarah and Lynn for all their help. I couldn't have done the show without you. Also a big thank you to Beth. She helped with set up on Friday afternoon and then drove back yesterday afternoon to take down the booth.

Mrs. Crosby was a hit. It was fun introducing her to more knitters.

A huge thank you to the volunteers of the KW Knitters' Guild for putting on an amazing show.

We've unpacked the van and are ready to restart packing for Camp. Today's jobs are making up the door prizes (we have some amazing gifts for those coming) and finishing the printing that I need to do. Oh yeah. Watch football and knit!!

Knitters' Fair

I'm home from Kitchener. The booth is mostly set up and will be finished in the morning.

Dinner is done, I'm finishing my post and then going to relax for an hour or so before bed. 5am will be here soon. Hope to see you tomorrow at the Knitters' Fair.

I love this colour!

It's Thursday evening, the football game is on and I'm writing tomorrow's post. I don't know if I will feel like writing tomorrow night after we set up the booth.
Diana came in this afternoon with Auburn Wave. I wasn't expecting it for the booth but am extremely happy that she finished it.
Pattern: Auburn Wave
Yarn: 2 skeins of Mrs. Crosby Hat Box in Sunset Regatta
Needles: 4mm

The colour is amazing!
We've shown many Auburn Waves. This scarf/shawl is awesome. There are so many ways to wear it and you can make it as big or as small as you want. There are many, many, many yarn options. I haven't seen one yet that I haven't liked. My third one is almost to the lace section and there will be another one started sometime soon. I have 2 balls of Freia Fingering hiding in my bedroom :)

Since I took all the Mrs. Crosby yarns off the shelf for the Knitters' Fair I thought that I had better fill them up with something so that the store didn't look really empty for Cathy.

Lots of bulky and super bulky yarn. Thinking of starting on Christmas gifts? Stop in soon while we have lots of stock in many colours.
