More Boxes

Mr. Canada Post brought in lots of boxes this morning. Dad just got the yard cleaned out and we are starting to fill it with boxes again. Kim and I were busy unpacking and rearranging to make things fit.

1. Blue Sky Alpacas

Royal Petites (we have black in stock again) plus a new pattern-The Imperial Wrap
When in doubt, reach for the Imperial Wrap, the chic accent for any fashionable look; keep warm and en vogue.
Very cute and it only takes 4 balls.

More colours in Worsted Hand Dyes
This yarn is super soft.

50% royal alpaca/50% merino
Stitching is nothing but smooth sailing with this fantastically soft and silky fiber treat. The nice round shape of the Worsted Hand Dyes makes for serious stitch definition, showcasing your handiwork and making it the perfect choice for cables, twists, and braids.
There are some great patterns for this yarn.
Men's Knucklers

One skein of yarn and 5.5mm double pointed needles.

Peruvian Cabled Scarf
Centuries-long textile traditions inspire this beautifully cabled scarf. Included are instructions to work the center cable pattern with or without a cable needle.
Five skeins and 8mm needles.

Two Button Hat Set
Wide ribbing with sweet button detail make this hat and mittens set a cold weather classic.
Three skeins on 5.5 mm needles

2. Freia Yarns

We received fingering weight yarn today.

75 grams with 294m
75% wool (from Colorado sheep)
25% nylon
Tina dyes great colours.
Smooth, slow gradations are the signature of the Ombre color range. We carefully transition four or five colors per ball making for very long, yet still dramatic color changes.
The yarn is knit up on a knitting machine, dyed and then ripped out and made into balls. This ensures that each ball has every colour in it. You don't have to worry about knots and breaks in colour. You also know that every ball will be the same-starting at the same colour and ending at the same colour.

There are long colour repeats making the yarn great for shawls and scarves.

Now I need to go though my Ravelry pattern library and favourites.

3. Crystal Palace Yarns

Every colour of Mini Mochi is in stock again.

We have two new colours of Sausalito

80% machine washable merino
20% nylon
198 yards on a 50gram ball.

I almost finished section four on my shawl. Five rows to go. Then I will be picking up and working at each end of the shawl. I might make the ends longer if there is enough yarn. For me a shawl can't be long enough.

Beth and I killed it at Fantasy Football this week. I say that like we were out on the field playing. We are beating our opponent by 80 points going into tonight. I think we are going to win.

Not impressed with a few of the teams on The Amazing Race. There is no way that I would keep the money. Even if it meant losing $1million. Bad karma could be coming for a few people.

We just got back from a trip to Best Buy. I wanted to show Beth the iPad Mini. We had to ask because it wasn't out but they have one locked up that you can try. They didn't have any in stock so we called the Apple Store and they are out as well. Probably a good thing.

It's almost football knitting time.
