Lots of boxes

We have two brand new colours of Dyed in the Wool. This is Tough Love

Tender Thoughts.
This is Goldie. Not a new colour but this batch is very different than previous batches.
Ranunculus. Our current stock has lots of yellow in it - the new batch is beautiful. More pinks, peaches and mauves.
The bright turquoise is a brand new colour of Plump - Last Splash.

The website has been updated with everything from Spincycle.

There are two more boxes to unpack. These are from Malabrigo.

  • Rios
  • Washted
  • Sock
  • Ultimate Sock
I have added the yarn to the website and will get the boxes unpacked tomorrow.
The pattern for Andrea Mowry’s Rhinebeck sweater comes out tomorrow. I don’t have any information except that it’s knit in fingering weight with Dyed in the Wool. I put together a few combinations.
For these combinations I used Kathmandu Fingering with Dyed in the Wool.
18 with Ghost Ranch
22 with Ghost Ranch
22 with Goldie
15 with Ranunculus
27 with Petrichor
15 with Tough Love
22 with Tender Thoughts

I will put together more tomorrow when I have all the information. I think that Le Petit Lambswool will work for the main colour but I want to see the pattern and some of the finished sweaters before making that recommendation.

Now it’s time to relax and knit. It was a busy day.

Happy Camp Sweater

Deidre stopped in yesterday afternoon with our Happy Camp Sweater. It is incredible.

You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

Yarns
Starke 6 - 2404 x 3

Arroyo
Hollyhock x 1
Natural x 1

Our sample is the 3rd size.

It was late in the day and starting to rain. I took a quick photo and will get better photos the next time Lynn is in the store. I was so excited about the sweater that I had to share now. This has me motivated to sew the ends in on my first Happy Camp and get back to knitting the second one.

I did a thing today. Dad and I are flying to St. John’s, NL in two weeks. It was a trip that he and my mom were going to take. It was a trip we were talking about for next summer but I decided that we should do it now. He is doing great so we’re jumping on an airplane for a few days. We had a great time on our train trip and now we’re going to visit another Canadian coast.

We have plane tickets and a car rented. I’m going to book us to go whale watching (two different tours because you can’t see enough whales) and a hotel after I hit ‘Publish’.

The store will be closed from Sunday July 19th until Friday July 24th.

The fifth colour is almost finished.

Hedgehog Rearranging

Hedgehog Sock is back in alphabetical order including the brand new colours. There are a few empty hooks so I need to get another order in.

This took a bit of time yesterday and it was really hot at that end of the store. I was wiped when I got home. Dinner then some time sitting and knitting.

Fading Point (pattern purchased on Ravelry) by Joji Locatelli is one of my all time favourites. I loved knitting the shawl and I love wearing it.

I’ve started working on new combinations
The same colours - just in a different order. These are Hedgehog Sock

I took a quick photo of Grevillia before leaving home this morning. I’m part way through the third colour. It seems to go faster now when I’m changing colours 😜.

Now I’m heading back to Hedgehog world. It isn’t as hot today so I should be able to work in the fingering weight room.

Icy Aqua

July 2026 is a gorgeous, icy aqua covered in dreamy lavender, magenta, and subtle golden sunshiny specks!

The July Crazy Beautiful Colour is so pretty.

The new Opal collections are available online and in the store. Above is Midnight Dream and below is Firework.
Andrea Mowry put a sneak peek on her Instagram page for this year’s Rhinebeck sweater. Here is a link. Andrea uses Dyed in the Wool for the sweater. Another yarn option will be Zauberball Starke 6.

There will be two brand new colours of Dyed in the Wool coming soon - maybe next week. Tender Thoughts.

Tough Love.
I’m about to start the next colour on my shawl. Tonight’s movie is Song Sung Blue. It was a cheery happy movie and now it isn’t. We took a break for a minute to take the dogs out. Hopefully it becomes happy again.

Happy Canada Day

Mr. Canada Post brought a big box of Opal yesterday morning. These aren’t online yet. That is tomorrow’s job. Don’t forget that Opal collections are not repeated. If you see colours you like please don’t wait. Once they are sold out we can’t get the anymore.
Here are two more new colours from Hedgehog. Heartbreaker and Mood Ring.

I love Andrea Mowry’s Birds of a Feather Shawl. We’ve had different samples knit over the years.

I put together a few combinations while I was in the store yesterday.

Peony
Pressed Flowers
Ballet Slipper
Pillow Fort
Rain on Violets

Wow was it hot today. The plan was for dad and I to go to the Warplane Heritage Museum this morning. It was a good way to spend a few hours. Neither of us has been before. It was so hot out that I wasn’t taking dad out - he might not have made it home. Then we had a huge storm and the temperature has dropped. Until tomorrow morning when it gets crazy hot again.
I made it to the first colour on Grevillia. Sorry for the awful pictures. I was rushing to get my post finished since I didn’t write yesterday.
Once I get into the next colour I will get much better pictures. Now it’s bed time - tomorrow is going to be busy. I have lots of orders to pack (thank you everyone who placed an order today) and then I need to work on the website. I won’t be putting yarn away in the fingering weight room. That room isn’t air conditioned and it was hot yesterday so I can only imagine how hot it will be tomorrow.
