New Colours coming soon

The family came home this afternoon. They had great weather and spent a lot of time on the water.

They are home until Thursday afternoon and then they’re heading back.

Next week we are expecting two large boxes from Biches & Buches. These are brand new colours of Le Petit Silk & Mohair that are coming in the boxes.

There will also be three new colours of Le Petit Lambswool.

The new colours will make an amazing Newleaf (pattern purchased on Ravelry). Blue Violet is calling my name.

We have an order coming from Spincycle tomorrow. Summer Love Dyed in the Wool will be back in stock.
We have a lot of Ghost Ranch Dyed in the Wool coming. This is our best selling colour and we were very low on stock.

Both colours would work well for the colourwork on Newleaf.

Beth came home with a long list of things they need at the cottage. We’re making lists so each of us can go in different directions tomorrow night to get everything.

Now it’s time for a bit of knitting. My ribbing isn’t going to grow on its own. Unfortunately.

I finally finished a project

Joji has been busy. She has another new pattern.

When designing this pattern, I tried to hold onto a single idea… but my mind kept wandering. Does this happen to you? You sit down to focus, to be present, only to find yourself running on autopilot, lost in the rhythm of repetition.
This is the pattern for those moments—when focus slips through your fingers, when time feels like a soft blur. Maybe, when you look back, you’ll remember the hours spent knitting this sweater the way I do: like a sepia-toned, silent film, flickering with quiet movement, marking the passage of time.

Sepia Stripes is worked from the top down, seamlessly. The yoke and sleeves are carefully shaped with sets of increases for a timeless, saddle shoulder look.

You can purchase the pattern for Sepia Stripes on Ravelry.

The sweater is knit in fingering weight yarn.

Dad, Beth and the dogs are at the cottage. The drive up was good and they got everything loaded in the boat and across the lake with no problems. The cottage was in good shape when they got there - no winter damage. There are only one small problem. The satellite dish isn’t working. Bell is coming out to fix it on Friday which means they’ll be coming home on Tuesday or Wednesday and then head back on Thursday afternoon. Dad and the dogs will be happy.

I spent the day knitting. I finished a shawl that has been on the needles for some time. I won’t see Alex this week but hopefully next week and I’m hoping she’ll block it for me. My New Year’s Resolution was that I would finish at least one project a month. Then we moved and that resolution fell apart. I’m going to try and get back on track.
This is another Traveler Shawl in Dyed in the Wool Bomboloni.
Then I went back to my first DRK Everyday Cardi. I’m started the ribbing on the bottom. Have I mentioned that I hate ribbing? It takes way too long!!!!

 Now back to my ribbing.

Pop Rock Pullover

Tanis Lavallee has a new sweater pattern. This is the Pop Rock Pullover and you can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

5 years ago I published my Rock It Tee pattern which featured a beautiful v-neck, i-cord edgings, and was knit by striping merino with mohair for a light as air, ethereal knit. For my Pop Rock Pullover I kept all of those beautiful details but switched up the construction and added a long sleeve option. I couldn’t be happier with this new take on an old fave!

The long sleeve version was knit with fingering weight wool.

The short sleeve version was knit with a fingering weight wool and a mohair/silk blend.

The Rock It Tee (pattern purchased on Ravelry) has raglan shaping for the armhole. I have a part finished Rock It Tee in a box downstairs. Another project that really needs to be finished.

Dad, Beth and the dogs are heading to the cottage in the morning. The dogs are going to go crazy when the realize where they are going.

When she had to cast on for the front band she used the Alternating Cable Cast On. Here is the video that she watched.

I placed an order today for new colours of Noro Ito. These won’t be here until late fall but it got me thinking about my Nightshift shawls knit with Ito.

This was the last one that I made. It was made with 34 & 48.

Lynn is wearing a knit vest, knit cardigan and a knit shawl and she wasn’t too warm outside. It is cold out there!!! Come on summer. I don’t need the heat but a bit warmer with sun would be nice.

Bunny

Stephen West has a new shawl pattern. Meet the Eyelet Journey Shawl (pattern purchased on Ravelry).

Select a gradient of four colors of DK weight yarn to knit this adventurous shawl. The top-down constructions begins with stripes, eyelets, and short rows to for a smooth semi-circle shape with a generous wingspan length. Syncopated brioche stitch is followed by more short rows and a final wavy border. Choose a soft merino wool like Walk Collection Merino DK or West Wool Tandem to knit this beautiful shawl filled with fun details and entertaining stitches.

You can double strand a fingering weight yarn to get the proper tension. This will give you more colour options. Looking at yardage you will need one skein each of 4 colours. The shawl would also look amazing knit in Rios.

Alex came in to help me today and brought in her latest project. A friend of hers is having a baby and she knit the most amazing gift. The pattern is the Bunny Odile and you can purchase it on Ravelry. Alex used 1/3 of a skein of Practically Perfect Sock for the rabbit and one Practically Perfect Small for the sweater.

Here is a link to more patterns from the designer Cinthia Vallet. Alex is now making a bear from the same designer.

Yesterday I posted about colours of Spincycle Dream State that are on sale. Take advantage of the sale and join Spincycle’s annual Cowlgirl MAL.

Read more on Spincycle’s website.

I have been working away on my Temperature Blanket but I’m losing a bit of steam. The crappy weather has slowed me down. I’m going back to greens - I want warmer weather so I can knit with purple.
