Finished Projects

We have a new store sample. Deidre did a great job knitting this for us.

Pattern: Plumped Up Cowl (purchased on Ravelry)

Yarn: Malabrigo Chunky. 2 skeins of Hollyhock and 2 skeins of Arco Iris

Needles: Deidre used 6mm

I put together a few combinations online. You can choose any two colours from our stock to put together your own combination.

Malabrigo Mecha is another option for the cowl.

Tanis Lavallee’s Metropolis sweater is a great pattern for Malabrigo Chunky and Mecha. The pattern is free on Ravelry.
What could possibly be cozier than a simple, chunky sweater with generous ribbing and a turtleneck that dreams are made of!? I fell in love with this colourway and knew I wanted something simple yet spectacular to let it shine in a garment. If you need me, I’ll be the one walking around on perfect fall days snug as a bug in a rug in my ultimate chunky sweater!

I tried to do some tidying in the store this morning and make new displays. Hello Blueberry!
I have another finished project. Alex dropped it off this morning.

Pattern: Traveler Cowl (pattern purchased on Ravelry)

Yarn: Dyed in the Wool

Colour: Side Quest

Needles: 3.75mm Ewenicorn
Sarah has a new finished project.

Finally done 😂 he loves it. Can’t stop wearing it 😆

I thought the stitch pattern was going to be annoying because it’s essentially a knit one purl one rib combination but there was something calming about it and once you learned the pattern, you really don’t need to look at it anymore and you can just be on your way Knitting. I really love the cable detail at the Raglan sleeve. I also really love the weight of this yarn and how it knit up. I’m really tempted to do the women’s version! Of course we would never wear them at the same time and not the same color lol

Pattern: Gib II (pattern purchased on Ravelry)

Yarn: Le Lambswool

Dad taped a bunch of boxes this morning so I’m going to go fill them. The movers are coming a week Wednesday to pack our kitchen and whatever else we want/need packed. I couldn’t face wrapping all the dishes, glasses and serving bowls. I’m a bit of a bull in the china shop and I hate to think what could/would end up broken.

Bluegrass Shawl

A few days ago Wool & Pine posted their Bluegrass on Instagram and it’s been a while since I’ve posted about this shawl. You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

Welcome to a bold, stashbusting brioche adventure! Bluegrass Shawl blends effortless style with cozy texture, featuring plush two-color brioche knit on the bias for a relaxing, low-stitch-count experience. Let your colors shine, mix and match treasured mini skeins, and watch the magic unfold.

Design Details

Knitting on the bias creates a dynamic, fluid drape, allowing colors to shift beautifully across the fabric. The simple yet striking brioche pattern makes this shawl a soothing, meditative knit. Best of all? No need to weave in ends—just let them become part of the playful fringe!

Not a fan of fringe? Simply weave in your ends for a clean, classic look.

Construction

Bluegrass Shawl begins at one tip and grows lengthwise on the bias, expanding into a generous, reversible wrap. The flexible design lets you knit to your desired length (or until you run out of yarn!). With just one type of increase and decrease, it’s a breeze to master.

Brioche Made Simple

New to brioche? We’ve got you covered! The stitch pattern remains consistent throughout the shawl, making it approachable for adventurous beginners. Plus, our in-depth video class guides you through every stitch. Alongside the 45-minute Learn to Brioche Class, you can knit along with our step-by-step tutorial, working through each row of the brioche repeat together.

Here is my Bluegrass that has been sitting in a basket for some time. Right side.
Wrong side
I am using all single ply yarn for mine.

I put together a few kits. Some combine a Theme Pack from Emma’s with Practically Perfect Smalls. For one I used all Practically Perfect Smalls. By Wool & Pine’s yardage you need 12 Smalls but I made the kits with 20 or 22 skeins. The more colours the better.

The kits are available online and in the store.

When I got home last night I went into the sewing room and the yarn was right on top of the first bin I looked in. I worked on the shawl while watching the hockey game. I stopped at the end of the third period and overtime - that was a mistake waiting to happen.

Of course I came in this morning and added a few more colours to my bag.
I was able to do a few more rows in the store today.
I am on hold getting the TV set up at the new house. I wish they would hurry because I want to get home to knit. Have a good evening. It’ll be an early evening after being up late last night.

Mr. UPS stopped by yesterday and brought in a box with these beauties from Atenti. I am in love with Blueberry. If you preordered a bag it is on the way to you. Mr. UPS picked up the boxes this morning.

Atenti hasn’t taken a picture of Bonnie made with Blueberry but I snapped a quick one yesterday. I would have taken it home yesterday but then it has to be moved. If it’s here in two weeks then it’s coming home with me. If you need the bag it is available online and in the store. I can order another one for myself.
I spent a few hours last night doing more packing. I have a lot of shoes!! I’ve tried to label all the boxes with specifics so I can find them in the new house. The movers are going to wonder who Stuart and Donald are. I even found two brand new pair of UGG slippers. I wear them every day and there are pairs scattered throughout the house. I’m happy to find back ups.
My closet is almost empty. The movers will take all the clothes on hangers in special boxes - thank goodness.
Next is my sewing room. I didn’t think I had a large yarn stash but apparently I do.

Beth has quite a puzzle collection.

Some days posts are harder to write than others. I have so much to show that I have posts written for tomorrow and Saturday. After finishing my post I received two emails about yarn that is on the way. I now have posts for Sunday and Monday as well.

I could be a few minutes late opening tomorrow morning. Beth and I are signing papers with the bank. It all depends on fast it goes.

Footprints

We have new colours of Wool Addicts Footprints as well as a restock of existing colours.

FOOTPRINTS is a phenomenal sock yarn. With a length of 400 metres, you can create the most beautiful socks. The quality consists of 45% cotton, 42% virgin wool superwash, and 13% polyamide. This means that the socks are breathable, easy to wash and extra strong.

Footprints will work great for scarves, shawls and garments as well.

Here is a link to a Shifty (sweater by Andrea Mowry) knit in Footprints. Andrea’s Traveler Cowl would look great in this yarn.

I found a few more garments on Ravelry
