Adore

Kim Hargreaves latest (and last) magazine arrived today. Adore is available online and in the store.

I don’t have a picture of my cardigan but this is the first Kim Hargreaves pattern that I knit. It was from Rowan Magazine 8. I think it is in the cedar chest in my parent’s basement. I have always been a huge fan of Kim Hargreaves and it is sad to see her retire.
This is another Kim sweater that I knit. It is from Rowan Magazine #10. I really need to look in the cedar chest!
Caitlin Hunter (Boyland Knitworks) has a new pattern. You can purchase the pattern for Halu on Ravelry.

Halu sweater is knit top down in the round and features a subtle front and back V-neck shaped neckline which transitions to circular lace yoke design. Short rows are worked after the yoke chart for a comfortable fit, and instructions are included for adjusting the body length as preferred. The sleeves feature lace at the cuff which can be omitted if preferred.

The sweater is knit with a strand of fingering weight and a strand of laceweight mohair or you can knit the sweater in a DK weight with no mohair.

Le Petit Lambswool and Le Petit Silk & Mohair from Biches and Buches would be perfect for the pattern.

Dad and Lucy just arrived home from Myrtle Beach. Beth met them with groceries and texted me a picture of Lucy. She looks great. And Beth says she smells great!

The Dreaded Cone

Jackson is very sad. He hurt is dew claw and won’t stop licking it so Beth put the cone on him today.

Boscoe is sad as well because his friend can’t play with him.

Meet Afternoon Delight - the newest colour of Dream State from Spincycle.

Mr. UPS dropped off two boxes from Spincycle. There is a new yarn but I can’t share with you until next week which is going to be very hard. The website is ready and the yarn will go live at 8am on Thursday November 3rd

It’s almost time for The Amazing Race and knitting. Then Survivor and more knitting. The perfect evening.

Another Beautiful Elah

Gail finished her Elah and it looks great! Thank you for sharing Gail.
Here is my finished Elah. It was a pleasure to knit, lovely yarn and a great pattern. I used the Queensland Kathmandu Aran in Aegean. I would recommend both the yarn and the pattern.

Hat season is coming and I ordered more pompoms today. These should arrive next week. They are Faux Rabbit, Faux Fox and Faux Racoon.

Here is a much better picture of my Nightshift.

Dad and Lucy are still in Myrtle Beach. They are coming home on Thursday. Today Lucy went for a bath. Unfortunately dad doesn’t take pictures with his phone. LOL! He has a flip phone. He said that she smells so good and is fluffy. I can’t wait to see her.
I had to update my watch to pair with my new phone. This is my watch face now.

Kim Hargreaves

ADORE is the latest collection from Kim Hargreaves. A nostalgic collection of twenty-one patterns that encapsulates everything knitters around the world love about Kim's designs. Sophisticated, elegant and timeless, Adore is the perfect swan song, the ultimate book from this much loved designer.

The magazine should be in the store next week.

This striking sweater is worked in Brushed Fleece and the Fair Isle pattern in shades of Alpaca Classic, for which three ends are held together in varying combinations. This subtle gradient in the monochrome shades adds a lovely depth to the beautiful all-over pattern. This relaxed fit sweater, trimmed with deep ribs will keep you super snug this winter.

This elegant sweater is knitted using a strand of Kid Classic held together with a strand of Kidsilk Haze. This heavenly combination creates a wonderfully warm and sumptuous fabric, and the funnel neck and wide sleeves add to the effortless sophistication. Choose to knit it plain or opt for a striped version.

This fitted peplum jacket is a timeless classic. Nipped in at the waist and worked in all-over moss stitch, this Felted Tweed jacket is neatly finished off with a chic button fastening and smart collar.

This slouchy raglan sweater is a dream to knit and wear, with four strands of Kidsilk Haze held together throughout. Choose to knit it in a single colour or try the shaded option which sees three shades of Kidsilk Haze cleverly worked together to create an ombre effect. This simple knit uses stocking stitch throughout and has a flattering polo neck.

Yesterday Beth decided what she wanted for her birthday gift. Her birthday was in July and we had been talking about a new iPhone. She decided on a new iPad instead. I ordered it yesterday and it will arrive at the beginning of November. The Apple site should be off limits to me. 👿 Today I went to Rogers and bought a new iPhone. The picture of my Inclinations Shawl was taken on the new phone,
The camera on the new phone is far superior to my old phone. I’m so excited.

I’m going to make new kits on Wednesday just so I can take pictures.

What a beautiful day!

I finished the cast off on my Inclinations Shawl this afternoon. There was a false start because the I-Cord edge was way too tight. I went up a needle size and it worked perfectly.

I am very happy with how the colours worked out.

Then I went back to my Nightshift.

It was a beautiful day. Dad’s planter needed water so I put the top down and went for a cruise. It’s supposed to be nice tomorrow and Tuesday so he’ll have a few more days on the road before going away for the winter.

Now a few rows before bed. I need to get to the store early tomorrow to get boxes packed for Mr. Canada Post.
