I’m OK

I had a crazy busy day in the store on Saturday. I came home and started a new project and was having fun knitting. I decided I would post yesterday.

I started a shawl in Urth Galatea. I need to get further before I show you.

Yesterday (Sunday) started out as a great day. We had breakfast with dad and then I stopped at Denningers on the way home. Everything was going good.

I am okay but I was in a car accident. My back is sore. My right wrist is really sore which makes knitting hard. My calves are sore too. I feel like I was hit by a truck. And I was. A Dodge Ram. My Edge is written off. The trunk is in the back seat.

Lynn is going to hold down the fort this week. I am going to work from home and help her with shipping. Please be patient. We are trying to get everything in the mail as quickly as possible. The same with pick ups - we will contact you as soon as your order is ready.

I have been waiting for over a year and my new car arrived this morning. Good timing. I am getting the new Mustang Mach E which is an electric car. I hope to have it by the end of the week. For now Beth is my chauffeur.

21 Color Kits

It’s time to stock up on patterns. Tin Can Knits is having a sale. I just chose a few to show but there are many, many amazing patterns available. Their patterns are extremely well written - I highly recommend them.

Head to the Tin Can Knits website to purchase patterns.

This pattern is called Snap (another pattern from Tin Can Knits) and it is knit using leftover fingering weight yarn. Something I think that all of us have 😀.

Mr. FedEx came this afternoon with a big box from Blue Sky Fibers. We are well stocked on the 21 Color kits. These kits use the 21 original colours of Woolstok.

Today’s tip
A customer called that her circular needle wasn’t long enough for the shawl she is making. I suggested using two circular needles. Put a stitch stopper on one end of each needle and it’s like knitting with two straight needles.
I suggest Cocoknits Stitch Stoppers.

There was hamburger meat in the bottom of the bowl. She loves to throw the kernels out to get to the meat. Then Boscoe comes and eats all the kernels off the floor.
Yes, she eats lying down. Why get up?

Turtles

Lynn has been busy knitting with Striped Turtle Toes. Her sock looks awesome. She said that the yarn is very nice to knit with. This colour is What Does it Mean and we still have a few skeins left.

Lynn used that Afterthought Heel that Andrea Mowry uses. She did some funky work to make the colours work on her heels. She explained it to me but I didn’t take notes. I will ask her to write it out.

This is the Temperance Shawl (pattern free on Ravelry). It is knit in Malabrigo Sock and Malabrigo is going to start a KAL on April 1 for the shawl.

We have 22 colours of Malabrigo Sock coming in the next few weeks.
These are the colours used for the shawl. They are brand new and we have lots coming in our boxes.

You can read more about the KAL on Malabrigo’s blog.
Here are a few of the colours that are coming. I went through the colours and tried to choose ones that will make great sets for the shawls.

This is a colour suggestion from Malabrigo and all three colours are coming. Once the yarn is in the store I will make up kits.

A really big box came this morning from Biches & Buches. Le Petit Lambswool and Le Petit Silk & Mohair have been added to the website. There was one more yarn in the box. Three colours of Le Cashmere and Lambswool. Off White, Light Grey and Dark Grey. The yarn feels so good. I will get them online tomorrow.

the biches & bûches cashmere & lambswool : take our le petit lambswool, and add even more softness and warmth that is called cashmere and you get this squishy delight of a blending. all our colors have a degree of tweed in them, giving always a touch of variation and sometimes even small exciting speckles !

le cashmere & lambswool is the same weight as our petit lambswool so all patterns using le petit lambswool can be used with this yarn quality.

Teaser

All boxes of Hedgehog have finally arrived and the website is up to date. Meet Heron in Alpaca Boucle and Skinny Singles. What a great combination.

Only Good Vibes would look amazing in this combination.

I think that Love Note would also look amazing in Heron.

Handmade in India using Mango wood or Sheesham (Indian Rosewood) wood from sustainable forestry, they are a beautiful and elegant way to convert yarn hanks to cakes.
At this time we are only offering these for pick up. If you want to have one shipped, please contact us about shipping charges. They will be more than the regular shipping charges because of the size and weight.

There are wooden ball winders as well. I will get them on the website tomorrow.

I’m trying to finish my newsletter as I’m writing my blog post. I left the store early to write the newsletter but I found ways to do other things. I’m working on an order for a brand new yarn from Primrose.

I borrowed this from the Primrose Instagram account. I can’t say anything else but the colours are really pretty.

I’ve swept the floors because Boscoe loves to rip apart his stuffed toys and it looks like it has snowed in the house.

I’ve updated the website to make sure all the Hedgehog and Madelinetosh is there.

I’ve played on my phone. The one thing I haven’t done is knit. I’m going to say good night and knit a few rows before bed. Maybe I will finish the newsletter tomorrow. 😘
