New Colours

Alex was in yesterday and helped me unpack lots of boxes.

- One from Malabrigo (the yarn is online)

- Two from Noro, Juniper Moon and Lykke (these are not online yet)

- Two from Rowan and Sirdar (hopefully these will be online tomorrow)

Lynn stopped by for a few minutes to pick up more yarn for her sweater. It looks great in person. We put her to work getting up on the step stool to put yarn away.

We received 3 brand new colours of Malabrigo Mohair. From the top - Valentina (689), Pascal (363) and Pearl (036).

We used Malabrigo Mohair to knit The Seashore Fade.

The „SEASHORE FADE Shawl“ is a huge shawl, that mimics the seashore with its wave pattern and its colours. You start with a few stitches only and increase on the left edge. You knit with two threads of laceweight silk mohair held together – this way you can play with colours and make them fade – from beach to the deep blue sea.
You will need a total of ten 25gr skeins with 210 m/229 yards each.
I used these colours and amounts of Malabrigo Mohair:

  • One skein colourway „Whole Grain“ (beige, varigated)
  • Two skeins colourway „Oasis“ (light green, varigated)
  • Three skeins colourway „Indicieta“ (teal, varigated)
  • Four skeins colourway „Under the sea“ (blue, varigated)
We have kits online and in the store for the shawl. The top picture is the colours of our sample and then I did another colourway.

I put this combination together this morning using the new colour Pascal.
Then this happened using Pearl and Valentina.
I rearranged the greens .
Malabrigo Mohair would be a great option for Love Note.
Tanis Lavallee’s Rock It Tee is another option for Malabrigo Mohair.
We have a washer and dryer at the cottage but the dryer has started acting up. It takes forever to dry anything so now we use the clothes line. We should have been doing this all along. Today Beth enlisted dad to help her.
I made it safely with no traffic. Dad, Beth and the dogs are fishing and I’m going to say goodnight and knit.
