MKAL and a sale

There is another MKAL starting soon. Some of you might be asking ‘What is an MKAL?’ This is from Stephen West
MKAL stands for Mystery Knit A Long! Knit Alongs (KALs) are fun, social activities in which a group of knitters all make the same project in a specified timeframe. A Mystery Knit Along adds an extra level of spice, because you won't know what the thing you're knitting is when you start. A section of the pattern (clue) is released each week, and at the end of the Knit Along, the final design is revealed.

An MKAL isn’t for everyone. Some people wait until a week after the pattern is released so that they can see how things are taking shape. The designers usually have a Spoiler Thread on Ravelry where progress pictures can be shared. Some people want to wait until the final clue has been revealed and they see the finished project.

Casapinka has a MKAL starting in July. Here is a link to the pattern on Ravelry.

THE PATTERN IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR SALE! YOU WILL RECEIVE A PDF WITH PRE-MKAL DEETS AND A COLOURING SCHEMATIC. HOWEVER, THE FIRST CLUE FOR KNITTING WILL NOT DROP UNTIL JULY 21.
-Begins July 21, 2023.
-It’s a shawl in a new shape!
-4 skeins of fingering, 400+ yards each. The Boss used a 3 skein fade (2 of her skeins have speckles) and a contrasting pop of color.
-An option will be given in a Clue down the pike, to make the shawl bigger, to accommodate larger boobies.
-SFS uses a size 6/4mm needle to get gauge but only Edna will enforce gauge (although if you are too far from the Boss’s gauge, you might enjoy a delightful game of yarn chicken at the end)
-Stash pouncing is encouraged, too! The 3 coordinating skeins don’t have to be the same color

Four colors of yarn were used, with one of them a contrast color. Don’t make the other colors “too” blendy, as you don’t want them to fade into each other. On the other hand, a gradient will work, just ensure you can see the difference in the shades. Variegated can work but realize that if it blends into one of the other colors you’re using, you may want to switch it around for certain sections but it is probably best as Color B.
We didn’t have enough room in the store for all the new colours from Hedgehog so I am clearing out some of the older colours. Here is a link to the website showing the colours we are clearing. The yarn is marked down 20% off. You can purchase online and the yarn will be available in the store.

I am offering an extra 10% off to those who read the blog. The extra discount is available until next Monday (June 17th).
You must put in the discount code

HHGOODBYE

at the checkout to receive the discount.

You will want to make sure to enter the discount code before completing your purchase, as it cannot be added retroactively. You will want to type it yourself, using all caps - as copy & pasting it can inadvertently lead to placing an unwanted space before or after the code, rendering it unable to work. We are not able to extend the sale if the deadline is missed.

I shared this in our newsletter but I’m not sure I posted it on the blog. This Saturday is Heritage Days in Ancaster. Wilson Street (and the streets behind the store) will be closed from 9am - 1pm. There is no way for me or you to get to the store. We also don’t know if the road will actually open again at 1pm. I decided that it’s best just to close for the day instead of having you and I mad about not getting down the street.

We are closed on the 26th because I have an appointment that I can’t miss.

Now it’s time to start dinner. Happy Monday evening!!
