New Patterns

Hello rainy, cold, dreary, perfect for knitting Saturday.

Joji has a new sweater pattern.

Here’s a variation on a classic raglan pullover. With an unconventional raglan shaping and a sweatshirt feel, this pullover design invites you to play with thin stripes.

I used a color changing yarn that mimics the effect achieved by hand spun yarn. You can also use a solid color or several leftovers for different fun results!

The shaping in the yoke is achieved by alternating the place where you work your increases.

This increase/decrease play continues down the body, so the thin stripes shift diagonally, giving this sweater a super flattering look.

I am really happy with the way this neckline turned out as well! It’s super important for me to have the back neck raised a little (so that the front neck can fall down) and it was a challenge to do it with one row stripes, but it worked!

Ambah O’Brien has a new hat pattern. You can purchase the pattern for the Saturniidae Hat on Ravelry.
Among the largest insects in the world, Saturniidae moths are a family of moths in the order Lepidoptera. Some of the most well-known Saturniids include emperor, royal, and giant silk moths. Most Saturniidae moths have eyespots on their broad wings and large, heavy bodies covered in hair-like scales. Choose between either Fingering weight or DK weight option. The Fingering weight features a third moth repeat for a longer/slouchier hat and the DK weight results in a shorter/fitted hat.

Ambah used Dyed in the Wool for the colourwork. If you don’t want to knit with Spincycle you can use Crazy Zauberball for the fingering weight version or Starke 6 for the DK version.

This is Happy Pill - a new colour of Dyed in the Wool that should be coming before the end of the month.

It was crazy in the store today. Thanks to everyone who visited. The cold, rainy, dreary day is perfect for yarn shopping.

I’ll be heading home soon to put my feet up and knit. I started watching the TV show Scandal. It is from 2012 I think and there are seven seasons. I’m into the third season and can’t decide if I like the show but I have to keep watching to find out what happens next. The plot turns are crazy!!!
