Will you make socks or something else?

Ms. UPS brought in a huge box from Lorna's Laces today. There are new colours of Shepherd Sock and Solemate.
Striking hand-dyed colorways, unbelievable softness, superb stitch definition and easy-to-care-for machine washability. Shepherd Sock is truly the ultimate sock yarn! This versatile superwash wool has just a touch of nylon for added durability and can be used for everything from socks and shawls to lacy tops and lightweight cardigans.
Our Shepherd Sock comes in 50 gram skeins. 2 skeins will make a pair of socks.
196m (215 yards)
80% superwash wool, 20% nylon
Solemate is Lorna's amazing creation! A sock weight yarn that is made from 55% Superwash Merino, 15% Nylon and 30% Outlast, a fiber technology that continuously interacts with a body's microclimate to moderate temperature from being too hot or too cold. It was used by NASA. Ferrari uses it for their race car seats. Not only do you get this cutting edge technology, but it also comes in your favorite Lorna's hand-dyed color combinations! And don't forget that it is machine washable. Could you ask for anything else in a sock yarn?
55% superwash merino
15% nylon
30% Outlast
390m (425 yards) on a 100gram skein

If you don't want to make socks, three skeins of Shepherd Sock will make the Churchmouse Linen Stitch Scarf.

It's a big evening. The Amazing Race starts tonight. Then off to bed. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day (which means that I might not post). It's the annual Valentine's Dinner to raise money for Honduras. Beth and I will go right after the store closes. We are in charge of the coat check. And for some reason, the dinner is always the coldest night of the year. Then we will serve dinner. Spend one evening serving at an event and you have a whole new appreciation for wait staff in restaurants. Then we're back to the coat check. It makes for a long day but it's for a very good cause. All money raised goes directly to Honduras.

  2. I bought a skein of Lorna's laces last year before I started knitting socks because I loved the name of the yarn- Zombie BBQ I believe it was! I only bought one thinking that is all I needed for a pair of socks! Oops... Guess I will be making something else of them!Or ankle socks!
