New Patterns

Our good friend Lynne has a new hat pattern.

In theatre, a one-act play is a form of drama that is written in one act. In knitting, the One-Act hat uses a single skein of super bulky yarn and one clever knit-one-below stitch to keep your head warm in a hurry.

This pattern is An Etcgirl Quickie - a quick-to-knit project that uses 1-2 balls of yarn and simple stitching. Etcgirl Quickies are value-priced patterns that you’ll reach for again and again.

Choose a super-bulky weight yarn that has a smooth texture, approx. 90 y/82 m per 100g. Note that the super bulky category contains a VERY wide range of gauges - look for something with a stated gauge of 8-10 sts per 4 in/10 cm.

Due to the stitch pattern this finished hat is very stretchy.

The hat is knit with 1 or 2 skeins of Rasta (depending on your size). The pattern for One-Act can be purchased on Ravelry and it is value priced.

Another friend Brian has a new pattern as well.

This is Pasutera (pattern purchased on Ravelry).
A pretty crescent shawl pattern using Japanese lace and stocking stitch, finishing with a picot bind off.

Brian used a 100gram skein of fingering weight for the shawl and a 20gram skein for the edging.
The November Crazy Beautiful Color would look amazing in Brian’s shawl.
Here are some colour suggestions from Emma’s for the Practically Perfect Small for the edging.

Perfect for pairing! Any of these existing colorways will look great with our Novmeber 2024 colorway (as shown above):

Date Night

Cactus Flower

Roasted

Born In A Barn

Pumpkin To Talk About

Aloha

Gosh Garnet!

Where’d That Man-go?

Petal

I might not have all these colours but we can find you something that looks great.

It was a crazy day in the store. Thank you to everyone who visited. My post is really early today. After work I need to head to the grocery store and after dinner we are meeting with our real estate agent to hopefully get our house listed next week. I’m pretty sure I’ll forget to finish this later so I’m going to wish everyone a great evening now.

Thanks so much for featuring my hat, Julie! It's one of those projects that after you make the first one you want to make another and see if you can complete it even faster. I love super bulky yarn for that. :)
