Crazy Beautiful

August 2024! Swirls of cheerful hues all held together by soft & soothing gray tones. The colour is so beautiful!!! 

Caitlin Hunter has a new pattern. This is Stromboli (pattern purchased on Ravelry).

Stromboli is the latest in my Knitaly series- tee patterns inspired and named for places in Italy. My dream is to one day visit all the places in the series! Stromboli is an island near Sicily, and the home of an active volcano (Mount Stromboli). The other patterns in the series are Tegna, Marettimo, Navelli, Misurina and Manarola. 

This pattern is knit from the bottom up in the round, then separated for front and back which are worked flat. After joining the shoulders, sleeve stitches are picked up and worked in the round, either to long or short length as preferred. Finally collar stitches are picked up and worked.

The pattern calls for fingering weight yarn and I think Emma’s Super Silky would be a great option. Please remember to swatch - you might need to change needle size if you are using a different yarn than what the pattern calls for.

We received two new colours of Super Silky in our order. More colours will arrive at the beginning of September.

We received some one of a kind skeins from Emma’s in our shipment. There are full skeins of Practically Perfect Sock and Smalls (mini skeins). These are not on the website right now. I will have to photograph every skein and I don’t have time today. They are in baskets in the store.

I took 21 of the skeins and put them together in a fade. What can you make with this? I suggest Ambah O’Brien’s Solstice Wrap (pattern purchased on Ravelry). This combination is on the website - there is only one kit and I won’t be able to reproduce it.

I am going to number the skeins as they are shown in the picture but you can knit them in whatever order you like.

This is Flora Daze by Emma’s mom Laura Dobratz. You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry. She asks for 24-25 skeins but 21 skeins will make a very long scarf.
