Frosty Pines

Isabell Kraemer has a new shawl pattern. You can purchase the pattern for Frosty Pines on Ravelry.

Frosty Pines is worked flat (sideways), increasing along one edge to create an asymmetrical triangle. Stitches are increased in pattern and then onward into the 1x1 ribbing. The combination of lace patterns, garter stitch stripes and the sportive ribbing give this shawl a sophisticated, yet casual look.

Isabell suggests a DK weight yarn but when I look at the needle size I think you could do the shawl in a worsted weight yarn.

416 yds (380 m) in C1
232 yds (212 m) in C2
140 yds (127 m) in C3

of a similar yarn that gives you the correct gauge

Needles
US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needle, 40” (100 cm) long for ribbing

US 8 (5 mm) circular needle, 40” (100 cm) long or size needed to get gauge.

The Cooma Cowl from Emma’s has been very popular and we just received two new colourways.

Cooma is a light and airy cowl that provides lots of warmth. Holding fingering and mohair together is all the rage right now (and for good reason, it’s stunning!) So you can swatch with a purpose! Use the cowl as a canvas for playing with color combinations, test out how each color interacts and practice holding the strands together while creating something of practical beauty!

The Cooma cowl is fast and fun to knit and also a bit addictive. It would make a great gift for all your knit-worthy friends and family!

It was a happy UPS day. My box came from Spincycle. Welcome Levitate. We also received some Lapis, Robin’s Egg and Midsommar. Mr. UPS took a lot of boxes so there are going to be happy Fibre people in the next few days when the big brown truck pulls up.

I put Levitate with different colours of Woolcycle and I think any of these would make an amazing Alpine Bloom hat. Woolcycle from the top - Tern, Elizabeth Taylor, Aura and Star Scatter Solid.
If you purchase one skein of Woolcycle and one skein of Dyed in the Wool you will have enough yarn for two hats.

I wasn’t going to show my first attempt with the Emma’s Smalliday set but I changed my mind after I posted last night.
The good
The bad. This is Ambah’s Euphoria Wrap. The pattern is well written and easy to follow. Just the wrong choice for this yarn. Ambah’s wrap uses more semi-solid colours and Emma’s are very multi.

I have the next colour wound for my Hedgehog shawl and will get knitting after dinner.
