Charmed

Svetlana Gordon has a new shawl. Wow. Her mind works in beautiful ways. This is the Charmed Shawl and you can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

The bottom hem of this shawl is made up of “triquetra” triangles. The triquetra is a triangular figure composed of three interlaced arcs. It is used as an ornamental design in architecture, and in medieval manuscript illumination. Its depiction as interlaced is common in Insular ornaments from about the 7th century. Knit this shawl and let it become your talisman :)

Heavier or lighter yarn weights can also be used for this pattern though dimensions and yardage will change. I think a gradient dyed yarn would look good too.

For this project, the triangles for border are knitted separately and then the shawl is seamlessly assembled.
This shawl can be easily reduced in size: do not knit two (fifteenth and sixteenth) stripes and their corresponding two triangles. If you want to make the shawl even smaller, then reduce it by four stripes and four triangles.
Svetlana used Malabrigo Sock. You can use any fingering weight yarn if you want to knit the pattern how it is written.
Our friends at Emma’s are going to add more Suri Silk to our order that is coming at the end of the month. This is Utopia. We will also receive a restock of Whisper, Lilac You A Lot and Dusk Til Dawn.
We received word from Della Q that our next order should be arriving at the beginning of June. This is the Maker’s Canvas Tote in Orange. What a great colour.

The Tote will also be coming in Purple.

I will get the bags up for preorder as soon as they arrive in the US. Just in case they are delayed.

It’s time for baseball and hockey (and knitting). Have a great evening!
