Happy Friday

It’s new pattern day.

Ambah O’Brien has a new shawl that you can knit in fingering weight or DK. The pattern for Eremophila can be purchased on Ravelry.

Eremophila, also known as Emu Bush, is one of my favourite native plants to grow and admire. They come in a beautiful range of colours from purple, to pinks to golden which are the colours I have chosen for my Eremophila Shawls. The pattern provides a choice between DK and fingering weight shawls and the fingering weight version can be knit in a single colour or with ten mini skeins. Worked top-down, the symmetrical triangle shape is easy to wear. Chevron patterning and eyelets make this a fun and satisfying project to knit and a dramatic finished result.

Don’t forget that we will have many, many mini skeins coming sometime in February from Emma’s Yarns.

Brian Smith has a new pattern that is knit with two strands of Zauberball. We don’t have Zauberball but Crazy Zauberball will work. I think I might try swatching with 4.5mm needles if I was double stranding Crazy.

This boomerang shaped shawl is worked in mainly stocking stitch, holding two strands of different shade yarns together, producing a marled effect. Three sections of garter stitch short rows are placed near the beginning, middle and end of the garment.

You can purchase the pattern for Limin on Ravelry.

It was a crazy day in the store today. Thanks to everyone who stopped by. Mr. UPS brought 3 boxes from Rowan yesterday (Felted Tweed) and I still don’t have them unpacked. Maybe tomorrow.
