Emma’s Yarns

I am super excited about new yarn that is coming at the end of February. Meet Emma’s Yarns.

Emma’s Yarn was started by Emma, a (then) 15 year-old homeschooled student who fell in love with dyeing yarn when learning ratios in her math lesson. Her eye for color is amazing! It wasn’t long before she started selling small batches in her parents’ yarn shop, and when that proved to be successful, moved production from her kitchen to a dye studio downtown. Her sister, Aspen, joined her after graduating college and together they built Emma's Yarn into what it is today; a wholesale company providing Local Yarn Shops with high quality, hand-dyed yarn from right here in sunny Florida.

Emma’s colours are beautiful. We will be bringing in Practically Perfect Sock. This is just a sample of the colours that are coming.

A beautiful 2-ply merino and nylon blend that has just the right stretch and is soft against the skin. It’s the perfect thing for shawls, socks, sweaters and garments.

80% Superwash Merino / 20% Nylon

400 yards / 100g skein   Weight: Fingering

Cooma is a light and airy cowl that provides lots of warmth. Holding fingering and mohair together is all the rage (and for good reason, it’s stunning!) So you can swatch with a purpose! Use the cowl as a canvas for playing with color combinations, test out how each color interacts and practice holding the strands together while creating something of practical beauty!

The Cooma cowl is fast and fun to knit and also a bit addictive. It is our all-time best selling kit and makes a great gift for knit-worthy friends and family!

Each kit includes:

  • 1 Marvelous Mohair
  • 5 Practically Perfect Smalls
  • Pattern download code (knit version AND crochet version included)

Theme Packs of Practically Perfect sock in mini skeins.

We have developed 6 "Theme Packs" - each including 10 Smalls that coordinate perfectly and are meant to be used together for a color "melting" effect.

We picked the name Theme Packs because 1) we are in Winter Haven, Florida, home to Legoland and really close to other popular theme parks like Disney World, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Universal Studios, and a million more. It's a little wink to our stomping grounds and 2) the colors in the pack all suite a "theme" rather than perfectly fading or highly contrasting.

We also have a lot of Practically Perfect Sock Smalls coming. LOTS!!

Mini skeins of our Practically Perfect Sock – a beautiful 2-ply merino and nylon blend that has just the right stretch and is soft against the skin. It’s the perfect thing to add pops of color to shawls, socks, sweaters and garments.

80% Superwash Merino / 20% Nylon

81 yards / 20g skein   Weight: Fingering

Here are some of the colours coming in Smalls. I ordered close to 100 colours - I couldn’t stop. The pictures are of the full skeins - Emma doesn’t photograph the Smalls.

Andrea Mowry’s new cardigan pattern comes out tomorrow. The website is ready so when the pattern is released I will have kits in Spincycle Dyed in the Wool. I took a few pictures of alternate yarns.
Patagonia with Edition 3. I will try and get these kits online tomorrow.
Speaking of Edition 3, we received new colours today. They are online and in the store.

Just a reminder. I am trying to get this out to as many people as possible.
