Alex stopped by with her latest project. I think she has her mojo back. She picked up the yarn on July 27th. She wasn’t happy when I asked her to model the cowl so Lynn wore it. It looks really good on Alex.

This is Andrea Mowry’s Velvet Mirror Cowl knit without the mohair. Alex used 2 skeins of Le Petit Lambswool (Soft Green Grey) with 2 skeins of Dyed in the Wool (Dead Reckoning). I really like how the cowl turned out without the mohair.

Select five colorways of fingering weight yarn and fade them from light to dark in this wavy Westknits shawl. The garter stitch rows are filled with eyelet increases and decrease to form the wavy movement. Short rows create a cascading ripple effect that wanders from right to left. The organic movement in this shawl is inspired by rolling hills and topographic maps. You can customize the length of the shawl by knitting more short row wedges for a longer size or simply bind off early for a shorter shawl.

I was able to get another 6 rows knit on Elah last night. I think I need to knit 6 rows a day. That means saying goodnight and moving to the knitting chair.
