Hi Julie,
Well I won the yarn chicken dishcloth game with the Ty Dy Cotton. I have attached a picture of the four dishcloths (yes 4 with one ball) that I knit using the Knit One Crochet Two Ty-Dy Cotton in colour 698. I haven't sewn in the ends just to show that I have used every inch of cotton. Ty-Dy cotton is really nice to work with, I would definetly recommend it for face cloths as well as dishcloths.
Here is a list of the four patterns I used:
- Top left is Gramma's Dishcloth by PJ Allen ( I knit the No Holes version)
- Top right is Amour Dishcloth by The Kitchen Sink Shop
- Bottom left is Double Dutch by The Kitchen Sink Shop
- Bottom right is Traditional Dishcloth by Staci Perri (I knit the rectangle version)
I knit the discloths in the order above, when I was finished the first three I had a little over 9 grams left. I found the rectangle pattern and was able to complete it with inches left. It is always a good knitting day when we use every inch of the ball!!
I asked Lynn what size needles she used for the squares.
This is what was left over after Lynn sewed in her ends. For Amour and Double Dutch I used 3.75 mm, I also cast on 2 extra stitches and slipped the first stitch with yarn in front to give a nice edge.I am pretty sure I used 5mm for Gramma's Dishcloth and the rectangle one. I always go up in needle size because I am tight knitter.
There are great colours of Ty Dy Cotton available.
Then Lynn went back to her Vertices Unite.
Here is a picture of my Vertices Unite. I just started section 5, hopefully I will get most of the main body done tomorrow on the car ride home.
I can't believe this is my first Stephen West, does that make me a real knitter now....LOL. I have been loving the TML (tosh merino light).
I placed an order with Madelinetosh today and we are adding their new Wool/Cotton to our inventory. These won’t be arriving until July but here is a sneak peek.
Mr. UPS dropped off a box of Kureyon just as I was heading home. Yummy. I did take a ball to start another square tonight. We are so excited about this blend of 50% Superwash Merino + 50% Pima Cotton. It's super soft! The color on this yarn is more muted then it's superwash friends. The wool dyes, but the cotton does not. Creating a beautiful soft color with a vintage melange feel.

I don't remember how you and Beth got on after your first shots, but I would suggest planning a day off after your second. I got whacked hard with muscle aches and wasn't good for much for 36 hrs, though partner just had a wicked sore arm so you might end up with just a day off.
