Stash Buster

Stephen West has a new pattern - the Parallelolamb Blanket.
This DK weight blanket is knit from the center outward with DK weight yarn. Each stripe is knit with one color at a time as you pick up stitches from previous sections, resulting in a seamless project. Sixteen colors of West Wool Tandem are featured in the original sample. This design is a great stash buster for your DK weight yarns or you can hold fingering weight double. Use as many colors as you like to customize this cozy garter stitch blanket.
You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry or directly from Stephen West. Photos © Stephen West.

Stephen says that you can use fingering weight double stranded. This is a great project for using all the yarns you have left over from shawls.
These lovelies will be coming from Malabrigo in September. There is a new dye technique for Rasta.
Launching this fall, Pintada is a new technique developed after considerable research and experimentation, attributed to the culmination of several dyeing methods.
When knitting with Pintada, you may notice some of the speckled effects are linked to some classic Rasta shades like Sunset, Paris Night, Azul Profundo, Frank Ochre, Ravelry Red and Fiesta.  Mix and match if you like or knit these unique color combinations all on their own

This is a new pattern from Knox Mountain. It uses a new colour of Rasta with a solid. The pattern is 50% off right now on Ravelry.
This cozy hat is the perfect accessory for those chilly winter days! Blending squishy garter stitch and rhythmic slipped stitches, this quick knit can be worked with two complimentary colours for a subtle colour blend, or two high contrast colours for a more dramatic effect.

This quick knit blends squishy garter stitch and rhythmic slipped stitches for a simple mosaic design. As either a snuggly cowl or cozy infinity scarf, this gratifying knit is the perfect accessory for those chilly winter days! Work with two complimentary colours for a subtle colour blend, or two high contrast colours for a more dramatic effect.
This is the Pritchard Park Cowl and the pattern is also 50% off on Ravelry.

I keep saying that I’m going to knit before bed but there hasn’t been much knitting. It didn’t help that I made a small mistake. I worked the number of rows the pattern called for before going to the next section. I had one too many stitches. I knew exactly what the problem was - there is a double decrease up the spine of the shawl and 4 rows back I did a single decrease. I dropped the stitches down and now it’s fixed. Big Brother is taped and we’re going to watch now. Maybe I’ll get a few rows knit. 😘
