Shopping

I did a bit of shopping last night. There are new needle gauges coming from Cocoknits. We should see these in 2 weeks.
I have long wanted a tiny needle gauge tool for travel-knitting. The big squares or rectangles are okay for at-home knitting, but clumsy for travel - so I fashioned one based on those a jeweler would use to size diamonds. The result is a joyous rainbow stack of connected discs for identifying knitting needle sizes US 0-15 / 2-10 mm.
And because Cocoknits is committed to avoiding plastic wherever possible, we manufactured it from PLA, a 100% biodegradable, plant-based plastic substitute!
The discs swivel out and click back together with tiny magnets (which makes it as much fun to play with as use) and the whole rainbow tool is small.
These are so cute!

There will be more Colorful Stitch Stoppers in the box as well.
I have never been a fan of knitting needle tip protectors – how many times have you found that the force of the stitches on your needle have popped the guard off the end, or they simply fall off from the friction of being carried in a bag? I wanted a soft flexible something that would actually slide onto my needle and keep the stitches from sliding off. At first, I used earplugs with a hole poked in them – they would go onto the needle and do the trick, but they only come in ear sizes. So I had cylinders made of durable, EVA foam in a variety of sizes with an opening in the middle that accommodate everything from size 0 (or the cord of an interchangeable needle set) to a US 15. Problem solved!

Julie Ann ordered some Dyed in the Wool today to make The Shift. This will be her 5th. Here are 3 of them.
They are gorgeous. I really need to make one.
I just finished the first ball of my Hedgehog shawl. I did inside pictures tonight because it is soaking wet outside. We just had a lot of rain.
Hedgehog Merino DK is so nice to knit with.
We have a shipment coming from Hedgehog in a week or so. It says that we have 40 more skeins of Tweedy coming. That was a big surprise. I thought we’d be waiting until September.

We have two new colours coming
Melon in Sock and Skinny Singles.

Macaroon in Skinny Singles and Sock. This shows how the same colour looks on different bases. Skinny Singles is always a touch brighter.
I’m going to wind another skein of yarn and knit a few more rows tonight.

  2. Sorry Julie Ann. I thought it was okay to post when you sent it to me. You can do me another one if you want. I liked it - it shows the colours.
