Monday Deal - August 17

This week we have deals on two yarns.

Check out all the colours of Sonata.
Churchmouse’s Easy Fold Poncho would look great in Sonata. From Churchmouse
Our favorite poncho transcends the trends. As a friend from Peru wryly observed, “Where I come from, we’ve worn ponchos for three thousand years!” It’s easy to knit (just one long stockinette rectangle), easy to finish, and easy to throw on. We think it’s like a really elegant sweatshirt.
You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry or on Churchmouse’s website.

Our second yarn this week is Loch Lomond from BC Garn.

A typical British Tweed Yarn. Loch Lomond is woolen spun, that means it has a nice volume and at the same time a good long yardage. This results in very light garments. The rustique look with the typical tweed nups inspires you for warm cardigans, real men's sweaters but also for very warm shawls. And last but not least: It is GOTS certfified, that means from sheep to dye stuff, from production to stock keeping and packing, each step is inspected carefully and in line with very strict organic and social standards
The yarn says that it knits to a tension of 18 stitches = 4”. Lynn swatched it and we really liked it knit as a double knitting weight - 22 stitches = 4”. If you like that tension then you can use Loch Lomond for the Easy Fold Poncho.

I was looking on Ravelry to see what people had knit with Loch Lomond. Someone knit Norah Gaughan’s Shifting Sands Pullover and it is gorgeous.

Another pattern that would work for both yarns is Churchmouse’s Library Vest. You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry or on Churchmouse’s website.
With simple styling that lends itself to the classroom, workplace or weekend, this vest is so classic, so quintessential, it could become your uniform. The jumper length has a certain schoolgirl chic. The abridged, hip-length version is a flattering layer without the bulk of a sweater. Either way, it’s a nice little primer of techniques you’ll use again and again

These yarns are on sale from now until Wednesday August 19, 2020 at noon. You can order on the website and have the yarn shipped or you can pick it up.

Sonata - $12 a skein (regular $22)
Loch Lomond $12 a skein (regular $16)

All sales final. No returns.
