Weekender Light

I was worried that I wouldn’t have anything to write about today and now I have more than I need. Tomorrow’s post has been started. I went to Ravelry to look at a new pattern and there was a surprise. Ravelry has had a facelift.

Andrea Mowry introduced Weekender Light today. You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.
The Weekender, originally designed for worsted weight yarn and released a few years ago, is my most popular pattern to date and it may not surprise you that a lighter weight version has been the most frequent request in my inbox! While these 2 patterns are very similar, The Weekender Light has been adjusted for its very different gauge and with a larger range of size options! The Weekender Light is available in 10 sizes, is knit up in fingering weight yarn and has a few adjustments that I hope will result in another favorite sweater for your handknit wardrobe!
Biches & Buches Le Petit Lambswool is perfect for this sweater.

Churchmouse Yarns has reworked their Over and Over Infinity Loop pattern and used Alegria sock yarn from Manos. You need one skein and 4.5mm circular needles to make the cowl.
Our Over & Over Infinity Loop is named for all the 'yarn overs' and 'lift overs' that compose this pretty stitch! Plus, we love knitting this looping cowl over and over again.
Reminiscent of tiny, crocheted granny square clusters, the Over & Over knitted stitch pattern interrupts the tendency of variegated yarn to 'pool.' Which means it's an adventure seeing how Manos Alegria's dazzling, hand-dyed colors unfurl on your needles. Happy knitting indeed!
We have lots of Alegria in stock including Rambla Sur that Churchmouse used for their sample. The pattern is available for purchase on Ravelry.

Pretend TNNA
On our way home
When we were driving to Washington we saw a sign for the US Open. It was the following week. We made the decision that we were going to stop on our way home and watch some of the practice round.

It was so hot. Over 100 and humid. I sat in the bleachers and watched this green while Beth went for a walk. The golfer in the red shirt with white pants and white hat is Jason Day.
It was fun watching them on the green. Because it was a practice round they could putt and then do it again. They would move around the green and try from different angles.
It was a tiring drive home but we made it. There were a lot of laughs and it was great visiting with friends but I’ll be happy to sleep in my own bed tonight.
