Bookbound

We will have Rowan Magazine #66 in less than a month. There are two sections to the book, the first being Bookbound.

Bookbound is one of the latest design stories to feature in Rowan’s Magazine 66. For this story, Rowan took to the streets of Cambridge to showcase the latest designs using Rowan’s premium yarns.  

The county town of Cambridgeshire, home of the world-renowned University of Cambridge was the iconic setting to our story, Bookbound. On this photo shoot, we explored the landmarks of Cambridge, including the King’s College Chapel, the river Cam and the Corpus Clock to name a few. You may recognize some locations yourself!  

This collection includes some of your favourite Rowan yarns; Felted Tweed, Alpaca Soft DK and Kidsilk Haze. Featuring 24 classic yet modern, timeless knits, with garments and accessories for both men and women. 

I mentioned yesterday that Namaste was discontinuing a few bags. Today's better news is that there is a shipment on the way with new colours of existing bags.

The Backpack is coming in brown.

I carry my backpack every day and love it. Right now it's blue (like the one pictured below) and in the winter I carry teal. Alex carries the petal backpack.

It is perfect for traveling. You can fit a lot into it. I have my iPad, wallet, glasses, medications, knitting, phone, headphones, passports... It fits perfectly under the seat in front of you on an airplane.

The Train Case is now available in black.

The Maker's Train Case, which fits conveniently under most airplane seats, was designed with the wanderlust maker in mind. When the case is closed, you can still knit or crochet - just feed your yarn through the metal opening on the side of the case. When the case is open, you can easily read your pattern as it's held in place with magnets against the lid. 

I was up early this morning and started working on the website. I kept flipping to see the report for the newsletter that just went out. How many people have opened it? What links are they clicking? It's a bit of an obsession. I'm not sure why but I take it very personally if someone unsubscribes.

It's still early (9am) and now it's time to get dressed and start my errands. Stop #1 is Home Depot to buy light bulbs for the store. Dry cleaners. Drug Store. The Needle Emporium. If time permits I'm going to visit Terra. There is a plant in the island that didn't make it and maybe there is something to put in. That's sort of an excuse to visit the pretty flowers.

We just got back from dinner at The Works. We met up with a friend of ours from high school that we haven't seen in about 20 years. What a great time. Now I need to knit. Clue #2 of Perfect Blend isn't finished yet and Clue #3 came out today.
