I'm Divided

Stephen West has a new shawl called the Spring Cleaning Shawl. The pattern is purchased on Ravelry.

Gather a collection of fingering weight colors to knit this short row shawl design. Dive into your stash and use little bits of yarn and leftovers for the garter stitch sections and eyelet contrast stripes. There are seven sections for you to play with speckled or tonal yarns, perfect for featuring those souvenir skeins from your travels and yarn festivals. Contrast color eyelets decorate the garter stitch sections and I-cord edges frame the triangular shape.
I overestimated the yardage to be safe for varying gauges and yarn types, so if you are making a simpler two color version you should have enough yarn using three skeins for the main color sections and one skein for the contrast eyelet rows.
MC - Section 1 - 90yds / 82m
Section 2 - 90yds / 82m
Section 3 - 90yds / 82m
Section 4 - 90yds / 82m
Section 5 - 270yds / 247m
Section 6 - 290yds / 265m
Section 7 - 250yds / 229m
CC (yarn over eyelets & bind off) - 110yds / 101m

I received two funny emails this morning
Linda and I are presently on vacation in England and Wales.  Her phone is not working, so she asked me to send you this message: “Close the store until we return from our vacation at the end of May!’.
We can’t wait to see your new Uschitita and HH colours.
And..
Kerstin and I are still in England drooling every day with your new yarn blog posts. We considered asking you to shut the store until we return.
I think I have decided on my colours for Slow Curves. I am going to use Skinny Singles.

I brought the yarn home with me and could wind skeins tomorrow. Tonight I worked on Guthrie.

I'm divided and the rows are going much quicker now with all the sleeve stitches on holders. I considered doing a few more rows but my bed is calling. I should have slept more while I was away😘

  1. Very interesting shawl. I can see doing it in tones of blues or greens. Lovely.
