a girl’s best friend is a triangular shawl worked flat from the top down. The textured body followed by 2 contrast colored pattern stripes, accented by small garter stitch stripes in a third color and the sportive 3x1 Rib at the edge make this a fun and entertaining knit… a versatile, but special companion for everyday. Pompoms are added at the edge to make it even more special and personal. But tassels or even fringes may be a fantastic option too.It was so hot out that we quickly took a few pictures and then she needed to get in the air conditioned car.
Here is today's tip.
Life Lines are very helpful when knitting a complicated pattern. You run a strand of fine yarn such as mercerized cotton or embroidery floss or unwaxed dental floss through one row of your work. If you make a mistake, you can easily rip back to the life line. Your stitches are waiting to be put back on the needle and you won’t lose any of the stitches.
You can run the life line through while you are working or you can add one if you find a mistake and need to rip back.
Make sureI acted like a grown up and went to bed last night. There wasn't much knitting today so I'm going to wait until tomorrow to show a picture of my Comfort Fade Cardi. The third colour has been faded in and now I have 5" to knit until I join colour four. You might say that this is the boring part. Knit one row, purl one row. Or you can call this relaxing knitting. No increases. No decreases. No counting.
-you know that your knitting is correct below your life line.
-you put the lifeline in a row that is easy to rip back to if you can i.e. a row of straight knitting or purling
-don’t put your life line through stitch markers
-you catch every stitch of the row
-don’t knit your life line into the next row of stitches
-if you rip back to your life line, make sure that you have the correct number of stitches on your needle before you proceed
My planters are enjoying the sun and being water 2-3 times a day. The rest of us are going to enjoy the cooler weather tomorrow.
Gorgeous shawl!
