Calm

I received an email from SweetGeorgia today and this picture grabbed my attention.
Here's a dramatic, large-scale project that could serve as a fabulous spring challenge for a knitter... Lisa M. Barnes has designed this stunning ruana called the "Cyril Ruana" which will be published in the upcoming Spring/Summer Creative Knitting magazine (which will be on newsstands at the beginning of April).
The pattern uses 2 packs of Party of Five (shown in Jellybean) plus 2 skeins of Tough Love Sock
Kim Hargreaves has been one of my favourite designers since the store opened over 30 years ago. I was always drawn to her designs in the Rowan magazines. She left Rowan some years ago and now publishes her own books. The latest arrived today. Meet Calm.
CALM & COLLECTED
Neutral gear, a utility-inspired collection softened by a colour palette of washed-out greens and cool white.
Crisp cables sit alongside soft cosy fabrics making these easy to wear spring heroes, all year round any day pieces.

From the Toronto Knitters Frolic website...
There are not going to be any workshops at this year’s Frolic. Many of the workshop proposals we received were similar to what is currently offered at our GTA yarn stores (some of whom are vendors at the Frolic). After careful consideration, the Frolic Committee decided not to offer workshops this year. Instead, and as part of the TKG’s mission to promote fibre-related crafts in the Greater Toronto Area, we are promoting the workshops available at the LYS. We hope you aren’t too disappointed, and look forward to seeing you at the Frolic Marketplace.
Kim from indigodragonfly is going to teach on Sunday April 29. The location is yet to be decided but it will be in Toronto. Kim taught at Camp for us and her classes are great. You won't be disappointed. Take a small survey to help her decide what to teach.

I've decided on our classes for Camp and I'm waiting for Beth and Fiona to proofread the brochure before it goes live. Hopefully we can announce the workshops by the end of the week. When it's ready a newsletter will be sent out. Now I need to start that newsletter.
