The Elder Tree Shawl

We have a new sample in the store - thank you Lynda it looks amazing.

I sent the yarn to Lynda for a different project but after one ball she realized that we didn't have enough yarn. I thought about shawls and then it hit me. One of our favourites - The Elder Tree Shawl.

Pattern: The Elder Tree Shawl (purchased on Ravelry)
Yarn: 5 balls of Rowan Summerspun
Needles: 4.5mm
The Elder Tree Shawl is another lovely Fall weather leaves shawl knit in tweedy worsted weight. A perfect edition to any autumn wardrobe. It’s a simple lace knit that would be good for intermediate level knitters who are comfortable with knitting, purling, and working yarn overs.
The shawl is large and I love it. It's also very lightweight. Perfect for a summer evening.

Summerspun is a beautiful yarn in a 50% Merino Wool and 50% Cotton blend. The yarn is made by twisting a printed cotton end and a melange wool end together, resulting in a wonderful subtle striping effect. Summerspun is a joy to knit and crochet.
The yarn has been discontinued so we've made up kits for the shawl with an awesome price of $40. Once the yarn is gone we won't be able to get anymore so don't wait too long. There are nine different colours available. Something for everyone.
I didn't knit a lot last night. And then I had to rip out half of what I did this morning. The pattern calls for a double decrease. Slip 2 stitches together as if to knit, knit 1, pass the slipped stitches over. On one row I did slip 1 like a knit, knit 2 together, pass the slipped stitch over. I saw it last night and thought that I could leave it but it was bothering me. It was so noticeable. Hopefully I'll get more done tonight so that I can show tomorrow. The yarn? I started something last night with one of the Frabjous kits. It is very nice to knit with.

Now it's back to getting ready for the Frolic. It's just 2 weeks away.
