National Sweater Day

Since 2010, over a million Canadians have participated in National Sweater Day at their schools, workplaces and homes. Be sure to follow our blog for tips and stories as fellow knit-clad Canadians celebrate across the country. National Sweater Day is a fun way to learn about the importance of saving energy and to inspire you to use less heat all winter. Heating accounts for 80% of residential energy use in Canada and is a significant source of emissions. If all Canadians lowered their thermostats by just 2 degrees Celsius this winter, it would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 4 megatons – that’s equivalent to shutting down a 600 mega watt coal-fired power station or taking nearly 700,000 cars off the road!

The gift basket for the Food Drive is growing. And it isn't finished.
One ticket for each food item donated.
Or you can donate cash. 10 tickets for $10. 25 tickets for $20.
The first name drawn will win the gift basket. The next 3 names drawn will win a $50 gift certificate to the store.

My GAP-tastic cowl is 2/3 finished. My plan was to take it outside for pictures today but when I finally remembered that plan it was getting dark out. Tomorrow. Who knows, maybe I can knit the last ball tonight.
