Last night Beth and I were out for dinner and she asked if I blogged about Huck. When I told her no she was quite upset.
Meet Huck
Pattern: Monkey Jacobus by Annita Wilschut - purchased on Ravelry
Yarn: Classic Elite Liberty for his body and Zara Plus for his face, hands and feet
The pattern is 11 pages long and very well written. Beth did all the knitting and I sewed in the ends. Yes, she needs to learn but her comment was "I want this to be perfect, I'll learn on the next project." And I bought it. :)
We (Beth and I) learned how to do intarsia in the round. The instructions in the pattern were great. It's a bit fiddly but not hard to do when you get going.
She learned how to make a monkey bum. This is the equivalent to turning the heel of a sock. The same technique was used for his face. She learned how to pick up stitches too. It was a great learning tool.
Beth is very pleased with herself. She carried Huck around the whole weekend at Knitting Camp showing him off to anyone who would listen to her.
The only problem with the project was that it took her a while and she is more of an instant gratification kind of knitter.
Bravo Beth, I love it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought you couldn't knit. Huck is so cute!
ReplyDeleteHuch was a 'special' addition to camp.
