New Sock Pattern

Perennial plants come back year after year, bringing joy, life, and color to our world. These toe-up socks featuring wildflower stitches are the perfect way to capture the spirit of springtime. They are a bit of happiness for your feet that can be worn all year long. It’s the perfect canvas to play with beautiful yarns, transitioning colors through a combination of garter, stockinette, and easy-to-knit wildflowers.

The socks are knit with fingering weight yarn. Lisa used a Theme Pack from Emma’s.

LYS Day 2026

Meet the Saga Sweater from PetiteKnit. You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

The Saga Sweater is worked from the top down in a texture pattern. First, the top part of the back yoke is worked back and forth on the needle with increases. Then, the shoulders are worked from stitches that are picked up and knitted along the back yoke. The work is then joined on a circular needle to be worked in the round while stitches are picked up and knitted for the sleeves, and the rest of the yoke is worked in the round with raglan increases. The body and the sleeves are worked in the round on a circular needle. At the end, a rib neck edge is worked along the neck opening. 

Begin by knitting a swatch to determine which needle size will give you the correct gauge in the textured pattern. The swatch can be worked using a chart in the pattern. 

The texture pattern is knitted based on the charted pattern.

My mind has been racing about LYS Day. We’re going to have fun in the store on Saturday April 25th. The store will open at 11am and we will stay open until 4pm.

We are going to have draws throughout the day. Every 1/2 hour we are going to hand out tickets to everyone in the store and there will be lucky winners. What are we giving away?

I won’t have internet while on the train with dad and I realized last night that we get home the night before LYS Day. Everything has to be finished before I leave. YIKES!!!

Colour Your Own

Rowan sent out an email today talking about creating your own colourway for the Heirloom Sampler KAL. I started going through some of our Felted Tweed and made up a few kits.

These kits are available online and in the store. They are one of a kind kits and are priced the same as the original colourway of the Heirloom Sampler. If the kit sells I can make you the same colours but it won’t be at the discounted price.

All of a sudden it hit me that LYS day is coming up. Saturday April 25th. I need to get everything in order and fast.

It’s just over 2 weeks until dad and I head to Calgary to get on the Rocky Mountaineer. Dad is so excited.
