Peace Love Joy

Happy Thanksgiving! We had a quiet day. Football and knitting. Normally we have 25-40 for dinner. Tonight it was 3. Our house was a lot quieter. It was sad to be apart from everyone but hopefully we’ll be together for Christmas.

After dinner we played dominos. Dad whomped us. 😂
Alexis from Cold Comfort Knits has a beautiful new shawl pattern called the Peace Love Joy Shawl. You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

What do you get when you combine 3 gorgeous skeins of hand-dyed mohair yarn with an easy-to-memorize, easy-to-execute stitch pattern? PEACE, LOVE & JOY, of course! PEACE from a relaxing stitch pattern. LOVE courtesy of super-floofy hand-dyed yarn. And JOY? Well that comes from a finished shawl that is supremely soft, lighter than air, and practically bursting with tiny tassels. If that’s not JOY I don’t know what is!

This pattern works exceptionally well with almost any mohair lace yarn. From delightfully speckled hand-dyed skeins to commercial balls of knit-worthy floof, as long as you have sufficient yardage, the only limitation is your imagination!

What can you use? You can find them all here.

Pretend Trip
It’s Zoo Day. The San Diego Zoo is one of the top zoos in the US and I would tell anyone going to San Diego that it is a must see.

The first stop was the Polar Bears. We were there for a while.
It’s mesmerizing watching them play.

I will share the rest of the zoo pictures tomorrow. There are a lot of them.

I love that you share your "pretend trips" with us! It's truly like being there with you virtually. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Beth and your dad!
