Pretend Trip

Carolyn sent an email this morning with a picture of a very pretty cowl.
Hi Julie - as soon as I saw you feature the Foul Temptress cowl on your blog I knew I had to make it asap. I had a Zauberball-Crazy in my stash that I thought would work well. I think it did! I adjusted the width of the pattern stripes a bit so that they fit within the stripes in the yarn.
This would be an excellent beginner lace project. For more experienced knitters it’s a relaxing (and quick) knit.
Thanks for sharing Carolyn - it looks great. I haven't had time to make one but it's on my list. You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

I was going through my photos and came across Lynn in her Ranunculus (pattern purchased on Ravelry). It's finally short sleeve weather.

She used two skeins of Noro Kumo and had 33grams left from the second skein.

Lynn used 5.5mm needles instead of the 6mm that the pattern called for and her finished bust is 40". She followed the pattern for number of stitches but made the length longer than the pattern says. Lynn chose the larger neck option.

The kits for Hug Shot go live in a few minutes. I made up more colourways today. The kits will be mailed (or available for pick up) right away and I will be sending out the Ravelry Coupon Code early next week. The pattern is available for download on June 5.

Our shipment from Dream in Color is making its way to us. Right now UPS says Friday but I'm thinking Monday or Tuesday.

An order of Addi needles arrived late this afternoon and I didn't have time to unpack them. I will try and do that tomorrow. We have the original Addis, Addi Rockets and Addi Rockets Squared.

When we were kids my parents took us away every winter. My dad is in construction so we didn't get summer vacations. We would go away on March break for two weeks - back then we only had one week vacation so we missed a week of school. It started in grade school and we didn't have homework but our teachers requested that we keep a diary of what we did. We never did it and on the last night we would scramble to remember everything. For the next few days I'm going to write a diary about what I would have done in Vegas. No, I'm in Ancaster but it will make me happy to 'remember' what I did each day. 😋 I have lots of Vegas pictures to use for my pretend trip. This is going to be at the end of each post so you don't have to read if you don't want to.

My flight was uneventful and I got to knit for 4 hours. The weather is beautiful. 91F with no humidity.

My room - the bench will be perfect for knitting. I'm staying at The Park.
I have a great view out of my window.
It's only 6pm. I'm going for a walk and then dinner. I think it is going to be a Buttermilk Fried Chicken Salad from Bruxie.
