Ten Years

Today is my 10 Year Anniversary on Ravelry. Wow. I can't believe it's been that long. I remember customers coming in and talking about this new website. What a website. And it has grown so much in 10 years.

This is from Ravelry's website
Ravelry is a place for knitters, crocheters, designers, spinners, weavers and dyers to keep track of their yarn, tools, project and pattern information, and look to others for ideas and inspiration. The content here is all user- driven; we as a community make the site what it is. Ravelry is a great place for you to keep notes about your projects, see what other people are making, find the perfect pattern and connect with people who love to play with yarn from all over the world in our forums.
Jess had been a knitter and a blogger for a while, and, because she was an active blogger, she knew that there was all this great information out there from other fiber lovers – but with the growing number of crochet and knitting blogs, finding that information just kept getting harder! It was getting frustrating for her to try and find information about the patterns and yarns that she was interested in using. Casey thought that he would be able to build a website that could solve her problems, so they started working on it together, introducing it to a few friends at a time.

I've been a bit obsessed lately with Stephen West's Marled Magic Shawl (pattern purchased on Ravelry). This is Julie Ann's and it is phenomenal. I hope Julie Ann remembers me when she decides that she doesn't want it anymore.
There are so many amazing skeins of hand dyed yarns available now. You can't help but collect them. And then there are the part balls left over from recently finished projects. What can you do with them?
This shawl is designed to use several colors from your yarn stash. Gather a big pile of yarns to work with for your palette. Gather more yarn from your stash than you think you may need because you can always edit your yarn selection later. It’s best to have a broad range of colors and yardage amounts so you have more options to choose from while you knit each section.
You are knitting with two strands of fingering weight yarn on 5mm needles.

I laid mine out this morning to get pictures. It still has a way to go. :) I have a couple of projects to finish first and then I'm getting back to it.

If you want a bit of inspiration, here are all the finished Marled Magics that have been posted on Ravelry.

The Cocoknits Sweater Workshop books have arrived. They are available in the store and online.

It's been a week of very late nights. Thankfully the right team won the World Series last night. Tonight I'm going to try and get to sleep at a much better hour. I say that but I've been working on Find Your Fade and made it to the next colour. There is a debate. Sleep or knit?

I agree that the right and best team won The World Series.

Good news, though. Only another 144 days until the Blue Jays home opener.
