Laura Chau

I saw some new patterns on Ravelry that were designed by Laura Chau. Laura lives in Toronto and does amazing work. Her new patterns are called the Davenport Collection and are all done in yarn from Lorna's Laces. If you purchase 3 or more patterns from the Davenport Collection there is a discount of 25%.

Here is a link to Laura's blog so that you can see all her fantastic work (knitting, spinning, dying, quilting....)

Henwick
Henwick is a cozy, seamless V-neck pullover worked in Lorna’s Laces Haymarket. It features a curved back hem shaped with short rows, buttoned garter stitch cuffs, and a wide garter stitch back panel. Waist shaping is worked along dart lines for a flattering fit.
The lower body begins with entire hem worked in the round, then back and forth with short rows for the back hem. Sleeves are worked in the round from the cuff up then joined with the body for the raglan yoke. Shown in size 33.75” / 88cm.

Laura's garment patterns have 11 different sizes so there should be a size for everyone.

Elston
Elston is a polished, comfortable seamless raglan cardigan worked from the bottom up, with bracelet length sleeves and a swingy triangular lace insert. The easy lace pattern is also worked along the front bands and extended around the neck for the collar. Ribbed buttonbands are worked at the same time as the body. Shown in size 36.25” / 88cm with 2” / 5cm negative ease.
Laura used Sportmate for her sample. You can also use Shepherd Sport.

Terauley
Terauley is a top-down, elongated triangular shawl that is perfect for showing off your favourite hand-dyed yarns. The textured patterns are easy and quick to work, and the increases worked on the ends of the shawl produce a lovely shape that wraps around your neck. Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock is fabulously smooth and hardwearing, and just 1 skein makes a lovely scarf.

Borden
Borden is a cozy lace infinity scarf in an unusual and elegant lace stitch that looks different and beautiful on both sides. Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted is a super soft, cushy worsted weight merino wool that you’ll just want to snuggle up with. Borden is easy to resize with smaller or larger yarn and needles, and is knit back and forth. If you prefer not to work a provisional cast on, simply cast on with any method and sew the ends together to form the loop. The “Flags” stitch pattern is adapted from Reversible Knitting by Lynne Barr (Stewart, Tabori and Chang 2009).

Lansdowne
Lansdowne is a casual turtleneck pullover worked in Lorna’s Laces Haymarket, a super soft worsted weight yarn spun from Blue Faced Leicester wool. The hem and cuffs feature contrasting Latvian Braids, while a colourful chest motif provides a fun graphic punch. Waist shaping is worked along slipped stitch dart lines on the back for a flattering fit.
When using hand-dyed yarn, you can minimize abrupt shade changes by alternating skeins. Work 2 rows from one skein then 2 rows from another, twisting yarns together at the beginning of the row. It is recommended that you introduce the second skein after completion of the Latvian Braid on each piece.

I don't think it will be hard to pick out three patterns to purchase :)

I love the photos - sweaters on a real person, not a stick insect pretending to be a person!
