Kaffe

Sarah just did a blog post about her visit to the Kaffe Fassett exhibit. I'm so jealous. Kaffe totally inspired my knitting life. I fell in the love the minute I saw his work. My copy of Glorious Knitting (his first book with a mauve cover) is worn out from me flipping through it so often.

The second picture in her blog post is of the Tumbling Blocks blanket. I have that blanket hanging on my wall.
Jane knit this for me. It is so beautiful! Everyone who walks into my house is drawn to it. People who knit love it but the reaction from non-knitters is amazing. They are totally in awe. The walk over and touch it.
The pictures show that it is big but it is really big. 8 feet by 9 feet. It took dad and Beth over 4 hours to get it hung on the wall. When we painted our house we didn't paint that wall. There was no way to get it down.

I just scrolled though my pictures and here are some more Kaffe.
This is the Carpet Pattern Coat that I knit. There are over 150 different yarns in it.

Kim knit Kaffe's Earth Stripe Wrap in Kidsilk Haze.
I think she should give it to me. :) It's beautiful.
He does fabric as well. Here is part of the quilt that I am making.

Thank you Kaffe for all the inspiration.

Happy Fathers Day to my dad and all the dads out there. My parents are in Myrtle Beach this week so we can't have dinner with dad but I'm sure he will a good day. He will be on the couch watching the golf. All day. Maybe with a nap in there. The perfect way to spend a day :)

I think Kim should give you that wrap as well, I love Kaffe as well, but have yet to challenge my skills and do something about it. Someday...
