Hair Salon

This morning I ordered yarns for fall from Noro, Sirdar and Debbie Bliss.

These cute baby booties are knit in Smiley Stripes. The pattern is coming for fall-probably sometime in August.

If you have a little one to knit for you are going to be happy this fall. There are lots of fabulous patterns for sweaters, cardigans, hats, booties and blankets.
These cute animals are also knit in Smiley Stripes.

Freya is chunky weight and has a bit of a fluff to it. There is no mohair in the yarn. No wool either. It is a cotton/acrylic blend that feels great to the touch. As expected, Sirdar has many patterns coming for Freya-sweaters, jackets, hats and scarves.
Kiko looks a bit like a roving yarn. It is a wool/acrylic blend with an unbeatable price - $5.99 for a 50gram ball. Great patterns for men, women and children.

There is a new yarn from Noro called Obi which is a blend of wool, silk and mohair-very similar to Silk Garden.

I love this coat!! Very plain with a touch of lace at the cuffs.

Also in Obi.

Noro has a new designer, Claudia Wersing. I like what I saw from her. Both of these garments are from her new book.

Sorry about the pictures. I laid the book out and took pictures. There will be better pictures as it gets closer to the pattern book being released.

Silk Garden and Kureyon each have 8 new colours.

There will be a book coming from Vogue knitting that features 1-3 ball projects-hats, mitts, scarves, cowls. Lots of little projects.

I didn't get any Debbie Bliss pictures. I ordered the new colours of Baby Cashmerino, Cashmerino Aran, Winter Garden (that has a booklet with 5 new patterns) and Paloma (that also has a booklet). There will be a Debbie Bliss magazine for fall as well as a hardcover book.

The dogs had a big day. A visit to the hair salon.

Roko has been shaved. He is hanging his head a bit tonight but he will be happy in a few weeks when it is really hot.

He likes to look into the house with his head on the deck begging us to come out and play.

Melo is nice and fluffy. His hair doesn't get nearly as matted as Ro so he doesn't need to be shaved.

Something made me sign up for Tumblr today. My user name is needleemporium. You can find me here. I'm not sure how much I will use it. Please let me know if you are using it and how you like it.

I use Tumblr as a short form pinboard to post pictures and very little text. My blog has all the details (www.dayanaknits.com) but my Tumblr provides the photos, hashtag labels and links to my blog and Ravelry page. I have no idea if if works to bring traffic or if anyone looks at all! But, by keeping it short I can add to it in minutes. Check it out! http://dayanaknits.tumblr.com/

I use Tumblr as an easy to post, short-form picture blog of my knits with links to my blog (dayanaknits.com) and Ravelry. I have no idea if there is any traffic to my blog from there, I imagine you have to start following a bunch of people to start drumming up a following. Best of luck, and if you like, check out: http://dayanaknits.tumblr.com/
