Shoulder Cozy

The last few days I have talked about spring yarns. Winter is going to be here for a bit. Here is a project that you can make up in a few days.

Late last night an email came in from Churchmouse Yarns. I blog about them a lot. I love their patterns. Easy to follow and great designs. They have a pattern called Shoulder Cozy which is knit with Rowan Summer Tweed and Kidsilk Haze. They reknit the pattern using Rowan Cocoon and Kidsilk Haze. Perfect for our winter and quick to make.
Simple and sophisticated, just like our original Shoulder Cozy, this colder weather version adds another layer of coziness, replacing Summer Tweed with the hug-able Rowan Cocoon; Kidsilk Haze continues to add a gentle complexity. With so many lovely color possibilities, you might have to make more than one!
As this piece stretches to fit around the shoulders, it shortens in length, so we gave you two size choices: Small/Medium fits up to 56"/142cm around shoulders (bust+arms); Large/Extra Large fits up to 60"/152cm around bust+arms and includes a little more yarn.
2 (3) skeins of Rowan Cocoon (80% merino wool, 20% kid mohair; 100g, 126 yds/115m each) AND 1 (2) skein(s) Rowan Kidsilk Haze (70% super kid mohair, 30% silk; 25g, 229 yds/210m each)

You'll also need: US 13 (9mm) 24" circular knitting needles (or size to obtain gauge); and a darning needle to finish.
We have a few copies of the pattern in the store and more will be here soon. It was popular this morning. For those who live out of town you can buy it on the Churchmouse site or on Ravelry.
I've had fun playing with different colour combinations this morning. I even did a few with Kidsilk Haze Stripe.
