Thrums=Warm

Jane was busy yesterday unpacking boxes.

A shipment came in from Fleece Artist with Thrum Mitt kits.
125 grams Blue Face Aran
60 grams Merino Sliver
(suggested needle size: 3.5 mm)
These mittens are SO warm.

If you are wondering about thrummed mittens, take a look at what the Yarn Harlot has to say.

There was some roving as well.

BFL Sliver in undyed and hand dyed colours.
100% Blue Faced Leicester
50 gram bundle
Great for needle felting or putting together your own thrum mitts.

A large box of Kauni came in. The colours we used in the Cascade Vest are back in stock. Two different colours are used. You knit two rows of colour A and then two rows of colour B. Keep repeating. Super simple. No cutting yarn. The vest is knit side to side with no shaping. All you need to know is cast on, cast off and knit.

Kauni has long colour repeats which makes it great for stripes as well as colour work.

There are 511 pages of patterns on Ravelry for Kauni Effektgarn. Pour yourself a cup of tea because there are so many great patterns to look at.
Here are a few more designs from the Kidsilk Haze Stripe Collection. I'm sad because the book won't be here until January. The good news is that there will be a pretty new book when we start feeling the after Christmas, winter blahs.

Leya
This simple, sideways knitted, ladies sweater is ideal for showing the inherent beauty of the yarn and is an easy to wear short sleeved garment.
And Lily
Knit this ladies sweater with twist front detail. The unique detail on the front of the sweater allows the colours in Kidsilk Haze Stripe to show to great effect.
It's knitting time!!
